Regular Season Round 11: Vechta - Ludwigsburg 77-72

Very important is a road loss of second ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (9-2) against eighth ranked SC Rasta Vechta (6-5) on Saturday night. Visiting EnBW Ludwigsburg was defeated by SC Rasta Vechta in a tough game in Vechta 72-77. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of EnBW Ludwigsburg. SC Rasta Vechta made 24-of-26 charity shots (92.3 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Steve Vasturia (196-95, college: Notre Dame) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 7 assists. His fellow American import swingman Trevis Simpson (193-91, college: UNCG) accounted for 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. SC Rasta Vechta's coach Pedro Calles allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American guard Nick Weiler-Babb (196-95, college: Iowa St., agency: Wasserman) came up with 17 points and 6 rebounds and Trinidad and Tobago-American guard Khadeen Carrington (193-95, college: Seton Hall) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for EnBW Ludwigsburg in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. SC Rasta Vechta moved-up to sixth place, which they share with EWE Baskets and Wuerzburg. EnBW Ludwigsburg at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. SC Rasta Vechta will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. EnBW Ludwigsburg will play at home against BBC Bayreuth and hopes to get back on the winning track.
