Regular Season Round 13: Nord Dragonz - Piraten 76-84

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Eisenstadt where 7th ranked Nord Dragonz (5-7) was defeated by eighth ranked Worthersee Piraten (6-7) 84-76 on Saturday. Worthersee Piraten forced 19 Nord Dragonz turnovers. Slovenian forward Simon Finzgar (196-80) stepped up and scored 33 points (!!!) for the winners and Slovenian guard Tevz Ruzic (193-95) chipped in 17 points. At the losing side Croatian guard Petar Cosic (183-85, agency: Interperformances) responded with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Croatian forward Filip Mileta (197-96, agency: Mansfield and Associates) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Worthersee Piraten moved-up to seventh place. Newly promoted Nord Dragonz dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. Worthersee Piraten will meet at home league's second-placed Lions in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nord Dragonz will play against Rocks (#3) in Mattersburg and hope to secure a win.
