Regular Season Round 11: Besiktas - Bursaspor 82-87

There was an upset when higher ranked Besiktas (5-6) lost to ninth ranked Bursaspor (3-8) in Istanbul 82-87 on Saturday. Bursaspor forced 23 Besiktas turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Yasar Ozkan orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Mete Tekcevik (187-1) contributed with 24 points, 8 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Utku Yurttas (-2) answered with 12 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 7 steals and Tolga Deliktas (-3) added 15 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Besiktas. Four Bursaspor and five Besiktas players scored in double figures. Bursaspor moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Arel Univ. Loser Besiktas keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Bursaspor will face higher ranked Ormanspor (#5) in Ankara in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Besiktas will play at home against the league's second-placed TAC NEF and will have a slim chance for a victory.
