Regular Season Round 11: Duesseldorf - Rist Wedel 57-74

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked SC Rist Wedel and 8th ranked Duesseldorf had identical 4-6 record. But Duesseldorf was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Wedel 74-57 on Saturday night. SC Rist Wedel forced 22 Duesseldorf turnovers. Duesseldorf was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for forward Alexander Angerer (203-96) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Justus Hollatz (191-1) helped adding 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Five SC Rist Wedel players scored in double figures. American guard Brady Rose (190-96, college: Illinois Wesleyan) responded with 21 points and Lithuanian forward Dainius Zvinklys (203-90) scored 11 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. SC Rist Wedel (5-6) moved-up to seventh place in North, which they share with Dresden. Duesseldorf lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. SC Rist Wedel will face Titans (#7) in Dresden in the next round. Duesseldorf will play on the road against SSV Lok Bernau and hope to win that game.
