Regular Season Round 10: Istanbul Univ. - Yalova Vip 104-58

TKBL top team - Istanbul Uni (10-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fourteenth ranked Yalova Vip (2-8) 104-58. Istanbul Uni dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Yalova Vip's 30. Istanbul Uni forced 20 Yalova Vip turnovers and outrebounded them 50-31 including a 39-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Istanbul Uni players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Yalova Vip's players. Center Ceren Taylan (189-1) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Swedish guard Raushan Gultekin (170-94, college: USF) chipped in 10 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Five Istanbul Uni players scored in double figures. Istanbul Uni's coach Hande Guven felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side forward Beylem Ilba (185-96) responded with 9 points and 12 rebounds and guard Merve Usal (-94) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Istanbul Uni maintains first position with 10-1 record. Yalova Vip at the other side dropped to the bottom place with eight games lost. They share the position with Botas and Fenerbahce G.. Istanbul Uni will play against league's second-placed Emlak Konut in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Yalova Vip will play against Mersin Uni (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
