Regular Season Round 12: Vaerlose - Aabyhoj 54-88

The game in Vaerlose supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Aabyhoj (5-5) played at the court of 6th ranked Vaerlose (2-7). Aabyhoj smashed Vaerlose 88-54 on Sunday. The game without a history. Aabyhoj led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Vaerlose's 16. Aabyhoj forced 23 Vaerlose turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was international guard Alberte Rimdal (174-2) who scored 17 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. International forward Caroline Wich (185-96, college: Portland St.) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Four Aabyhoj players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Emilie Ravn (174-0) who recorded 12 points and 6 rebounds and forward Annemie Espensen (179-97) added 13 points respectively. Vaerlose's coach Thomas Hemmingsen gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Aabyhoj moved-up to third place. Vaerlose lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with seven games lost. Aabyhoj will meet at home league's second-placed Amager in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vaerlose will play against Lemvig (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
