Seventh ranked Benfica (5-3) crushed at home 9th ranked Carnide (3-6) by 23 points 84-61, which is the biggest margin this round. Benfica dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Carnide's 30. Benfica had a 27-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Carnide's players. It was a good game for international guard Joana Soeiro (170-95, college: Marian, IN) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 assists. Benfica's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked CAB Madeira (#12) in Funchal and are hoping to win another game. Carnide will play at home against Olivais and hope to win that game.
