There was a minor upset in Istanbul where 13th ranked Buyukcekmece (3-8) was defeated by fifteenth ranked Acibadem (2-9) 96-81 on Sunday. Acibadem looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for American power forward JaJuan Johnson (206-89, college: Purdue) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 9 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Australian-South Sudanese center Mangok Mathiang (208-92, college: Louisville) helped adding 16 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Acibadem players scored in double figures. Acibadem's coach Zafer Aktas allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American Andrew Andrews (188-93, college: Washington) responded with 26 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and the other American import center Robert Upshaw (213-94, college: Washington) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Acibadem maintains fifteenth place with 2-9 record. Loser Buyukcekmece keeps the thirteenth position with eight games lost. Acibadem will face higher ranked Bursaspor (#9) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
