Regular Season Round 7: Kyiv Basket - Odessa 111-114

Important game to mention about took place in Kyiv. Sixth ranked Odessa (5-6) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 4th placed Kyiv Basket (6-4) 114-111 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kyiv Basket. Odessa forced 22 Kyiv Basket turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Kyiv Basket was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Bruce Massey (190-90, college: MTSU) who led the winners and scored 34 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. His fellow American import forward Mike Holloway-Jr (201, college: Fair Dickinson) accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. American guard Kasey Shepherd (190-94, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Duran International) came up with 25 points and 6 assists and the former international power forward Viacheslav Petrov (204-94, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 20 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Kyiv Basket in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Odessa maintains sixth place with 5-6 record. Kyiv Basket at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Odessa will play against league's leader Prometey in Kamianske in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kyiv Basket will play at home against Cherkasy and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
