Regular Season Round 12: Mannheim - Idstein 78-73

There was an upset when second-best Idstein (8-4) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Mannheim (5-7) 78-73 on Sunday. Mannheim outrebounded Idstein 36-23 including 23 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Pascal Klahn who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Alexander Kuhn (198-92) who added 18 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Mannheim's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American guard Julian DeBose (193-92, college: FGCU) with 25 points and 5 rebounds and Czech power forward Jakub Mikulec (205-89) scored 16 points. Mannheim moved-up to eighth place in South-West, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Idstein keeps the second position with four games lost. Mannheim will face higher ranked Saarlouis/Dillingen (#7) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Idstein will play against the league's leader Karlsruhe SC (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
