Regular Season Round 12: Amager - Svendborg 79-96

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Kastrup where one of their biggest challengers Amager BK (1-10) was defeated by fifth ranked Svendborg (6-7) 96-79 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Svendborg. Amager BK managed to win fourth quarter 28-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Svendborg dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Amager BK's 28. Svendborg forced 24 Amager BK turnovers. The best player for the winners was American forward Sidney Umude (201, college: Southern) who scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. The other American import power forward Durell Vinson (202-85, college: Wagner) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Svendborg players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Australian power forward Louis Timms (206-91, college: Wayland Baptist) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds and guard Jonathan Klussmann (190-2) added 22 points and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Svendborg maintains fifth position with 6-7 record which they share with defeated Amager BK. Amager BK lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fifth place with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
