Regular Season Round 14: Trier - Jena 100-79

Date: December 11, 2019
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Science City Jena (10-4) against eighth ranked Gladiators (7-6) on Wednesday night. Visiting Science City Jena was crushed by Gladiators in Trier 100-79. Gladiators forced 21 Science City Jena turnovers. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. American Kyle Dranginis (195-92, college: Gonzaga) notched 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and the other American import guard Jordan Geist (188-97, college: Missouri) supported him with 24 points. Even 19 points by forward Julius Wolf (203-93) did not help to save the game for Science City Jena. Naturalized American point guard Brad Loesing (182-89, college: Wofford) added 16 points for the guests. Five Gladiators and four Science City Jena players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gladiators have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Uni Baskets and Tuebingen. Science City Jena at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. Gladiators will play against Walter Tigers (#9) in Tuebingen in the next round. Science City Jena will play at home against Artland Dragons (#16) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
