Regular Season Round 12: Besiktas - TAC NEF 62-85

There was no surprise in Istanbul where 6th ranked Besiktas (5-7) was outplayed by second ranked TAC NEF (11-1) 85-62 on Wednesday. TAC NEF made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Besiktas turnovers and outrebounded them 47-31 including 32 on the defensive glass. TAC NEF looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Berkay Civgin (-1) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and Murat Guzelocak (-1) who added 19 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four TAC NEF players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Mehmet Askar (-1) with 12 points and 4 assists and Umut Ozcan (-2) scored 13 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. TAC NEF have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Fenerbahce and Tofas. Loser Besiktas dropped to the fifth place with seven games lost. TAC NEF will face Ormanspor (#6) in Ankara in the next round where they are favorite. Besiktas will play on the road against Pinar Karsiyaka and hope to win that game.
