Regular Season Round 8: K.Sokoly - Mykolaiv 98-100

A very interesting game took place in Kharkiv. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 9th ranked K.Sokoly (1-12) to seventh ranked Mykolaiv (4-8) 100-98 on Friday evening. K.Sokoly was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 47-43 second half run of Mykolaiv. The winners were led by American point guard QJ Peterson (183-94, college: VMI) who scored that evening 39 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Maksym Lutsenko (191-93) supported him with 17 points. Mykolaiv's coach Vitaliy Cherniy allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 26 points and 5 rebounds by American guard Zach Jackson (196-97, college: Omaha) did not help to save the game for K.Sokoly. Swingman Anton Musiyenko (192-97) added 17 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Mykolaiv maintains seventh position with 4-8 record. K.Sokoly lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 12 games lost. Mykolaiv's next round opponent will be higher ranked Khimik (#3) in Yuzhny and it may be quite challenging game.
