An interesting game where Elchingen (#1) beat host Wuerzburg (#2) with 17-point difference 91-74 on Saturday evening. It was a key game for the top position in South. Elchingen dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Wuerzburg's 30. Elchingen forced 19 Wuerzburg turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Eric Curth (193-92) who helped to win the game recording 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Jacob Mampuya (200-94) who added 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Elchingen's coach Igor Perovic used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was center Jonas Weitzel (203-98) with 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Lithuanian forward Rytis Pipiras (201-95) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Five Elchingen and four Wuerzburg players scored in double figures. Elchingen (10-2) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position in South. Loser Wuerzburg keeps the second place with three games lost. Elchingen will meet at home Fraport Skyliners II (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
