Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked TV Langen and 8th ranked BBU 01 Ulm had identical 5-7 record. This time TV Langen used a home court advantage and outscored the opponent from Ulm 85-60 on Saturday night. TV Langen dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to BBU 01 Ulm's 22 and made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. TV Langen forced 23 BBU 01 Ulm turnovers and outrebounded them 34-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. BBU 01 Ulm was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Ruben Spoden (202-89) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his eight free throws) for the winners. American forward Christopher Edward (201, college: Concordia, OR) chipped in 27 points and 5 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). Hungarian center Adam Krasovec (205-1) produced 12 points and Kristofer Krause (190-0) added 10 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. TV Langen (6-7) moved-up to seventh place in South-West, which they share with Giessen and Kaiserslautern. Newly promoted BBU 01 Ulm dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost. TV Langen will face higher ranked HAKRO Merlins II (#4) in Crailsheim in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BBU 01 Ulm will play on the road against Idstein (#3) and hope to win that game.
