Regular Season Round 11: Rhein-Main - Schwabach 62-64

Important game to mention about took place in Langen. Fourth ranked Schwabach (7-3) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 8th ranked Rhein Main Baskets (3-8) 64-62 on Saturday evening. Schwabach dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Rhein Main Baskets' 28. They brought some defensive toughness making 10 blocks. American guard Deeshyra Thomas (168-95, college: Weber St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 9 rebounds. Anna Furman (185-99) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Canadian guard Jamie Hutcheson (175, college: MCC Toronto) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Pia Dietrich (168-94) added 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Rhein Main Baskets. Rhein Main Baskets' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Schwabach have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain fourth place in South with 7-3 record. Rhein Main Baskets at the other side dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. Schwabach will play against Weiterstadt (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rhein Main Baskets will play against the league's leader Don Bosco Bamberg and hope to get back on the winning track.
