Regular Season Round 22: Perlas - Vytis 85-76

No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Perlas (10-10) beat 12th ranked Vytis (8-13) in Vilnius 85-76 on Saturday. Perlas dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Vytis' 38. They outrebounded Vytis 41-29 including 32 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for power forward Einaras Tubutis (205-98) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Simas Jarumbauskas (198-0, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Perlas players scored in double figures. Center Aurelijus Pukelis (205-94) replied with 26 points and 8 rebounds and guard Paulius Beliavicius (196-88) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Vytis. Vytis' coach Erikas Kuciauskas tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Perlas moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Zalgiris II. Loser Vytis keeps the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Perlas will face bottom-ranked Silales Lusis (#15) in Rietavas in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vytis will play at home against Gargzdu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
