There was no surprise when 11th ranked Vechta-2 (3-9) was defeated at home by second ranked Wolmirstedt (10-2) 86-77 on Saturday. Wolmirstedt looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Vechta-2's players. American forward Jordan Talbert (198-91, college: Missouri So.) fired 25 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Guard Philipp Lieser (194-89, college: Cent.Washington) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists. Wolmirstedt's coach Eiko Potthast used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Malte Giljan (205-95) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds and swingman Luc Van-Slooten (203-2, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Five Vechta-2 players scored in double figures. Wolmirstedt maintains second place in North with 10-2 record behind leader Ansbach. Vechta-2 lost their fourth game in a row.
