Regular Season Round 22: Delikatesas - Zalgiris II 76-95

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Delikatesas (10-11) was smashed by seventh ranked Zalgiris II (10-10) in Joniskis 95-76 on Saturday. Zalgiris II forced 20 Delikatesas turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Quite impressive performance for Vitalijus Kozys (201-99) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Erikas Venskus (205-0) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Zalgiris II's coach Arvydas Gronskis used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International Andrius Globys (198-95) replied with 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Eimantas Stankevicius (192-98, agency: Octagon Europe) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Delikatesas. Five Zalgiris II and four Delikatesas players scored in double figures. Zalgiris II moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Perlas. Loser Delikatesas dropped to the seventh position with 11 games lost. Zalgiris II will face Jonava (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Delikatesas will play against the league's second-placed Silute (#2) and hope to win that game.
