Regular Season Round 15: Hagen Phoenix - Schwenningen 81-66

We should mention about the upset which took place in Hagen, where 12th ranked BV Villingen-Schwenningen (4-10) lost to fifteenth ranked Phoenix Hagen (5-9) in a road game 66-81 on Saturday. Phoenix Hagen outrebounded BV Villingen-Schwenningen 36-25 including 30 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Kyle Leufroy (190-96, college: Lehigh) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 5 rebounds. Dominik Spohr (198-89) helped adding 23 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American forward Rasheed Moore (196-95, college: E.Stroudsburg) with 12 points and 5 rebounds and Croatian-Bosnian guard Ivan Mikulic (194-91) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Phoenix Hagen. They moved-up to twelfth place. Newly promoted BV Villingen-Schwenningen dropped to the thirteenth position with ten games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Phoenix Hagen will meet higher ranked Rostock (#11) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BV Villingen-Schwenningen will play against Gladiators and hope to secure a win.
