Regular Season Round 11: Gemlik - Yalova Bld 69-84

Everything could happen in Bursa at the game between two tied teams. Both thirteenth ranked Yalova Bld and 12th ranked Gemlik had identical 4-6 record. But Gemlik was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Yalova 84-69 on Saturday night. It was a great evening for American point guard Keshun Sherrill (175-94, college: Augusta, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 4 assists. Guard Huseyin Kandemir (194-95) helped adding 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Yalova Bld players scored in double figures. American point guard Diante Watkins (174-90, college: Robert Morris) responded with 18 points and 8 assists and the other American import forward Gary Johnson (198-88, college: Texas) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Yalova Bld (5-6) moved-up to twelfth place. Newly promoted Gemlik dropped to the thirteenth position with seven games lost. Yalova Bld will face higher ranked Manisa (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gemlik will play against Akhisar Bld (#8) and hope to win that game.
