No shocking result in a game in Neustadt where sixth ranked Langenhagen (8-4) smashed bottom-ranked Weser Baskets (0-12) 117-65 on Saturday. Langenhagen dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Weser Baskets' 34. Langenhagen forced 30 Weser Baskets turnovers and outrebounded them 35-23 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Langenhagen looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Weser Baskets' players. American point guard Devon Moore (193-89, college: JMU) fired 13 points, 9 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Center Marcel Schwarz (203-90) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Five Langenhagen players scored in double figures. Forward Lukas Koehler (196-96) produced 15 points and forward Lars Kaniok (195-80) added 8 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Langenhagen. They moved-up to fifth place in North, which they share with Neustadt TSV. Weser Baskets lost their twelfth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
