Very predictable result when third ranked Science City Jena (11-4) beat at home bottom-ranked Artland Dragons (3-11) 81-74. Science City Jena players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized Polish swingman Dennis Nawrocki (193-92) who led the winners and scored 24 points. American center Alex Herrera (206-92, college: Fort Lewis, agency: Two Points) accounted for 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. American guard Pierre Bland (188-92, college: PFW) came up with 14 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Chase Griffin (190-83, college: Pepperdine) added 18 points respectively for Artland Dragons in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Science City Jena maintains third place with 11-4 record having just one point less than leader Chemnitz. Artland Dragons lost their fourth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. Science City Jena will have a break next round. Artland Dragons will play on the road against Ehingen/Urspringschule (#16) in Allmendingen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
