Regular Season Round 12: Bandirma - Afyon 80-83

A very close game took place in Balikesir between Afyon Bld and Bandirma. Thirteenth ranked Afyon Bld (4-8) got a very close victory on the road over higher ranked Bandirma (8-4). Afyon Bld managed to escape with a 3-point win 83-80 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. Afyon Bld outrebounded Bandirma 36-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Jordon Crawford (168-90, college: Bowling Green) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 7 assists and Nigerian power forward Talib Zanna (206-90, college: Pittsburgh) who added 15 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American center Emanuel Terry (206-96, college: Lincoln Memorial) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Ian Hummer (201-90, college: Princeton) scored 13 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Afyon Bld moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with OGM Orman. Loser Bandirma keeps the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Galatasaray. Afyon Bld will meet at home Buyukcekmece (#14) in the next round. Bandirma will play against Fenerbahce (#3) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
