Everything could happen in Ulm at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked White Wings and 7th ranked OrangeAcademy had identical 5-6 record. But OrangeAcademy was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Hanau 72-68 on Sunday night. White Wings made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. OrangeAcademy was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American forward Preston Beverly (201-96, college: PLNU) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Australian-British forward Ryan Beisty (200-95, college: Regis Univ.) chipped in 15 points. Five White Wings players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized American point guard Zachary Ensminger (197-1) who recorded 18 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Christoph Philipps (203-98) added 14 points respectively. OrangeAcademy's coach Anton Gavel tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. White Wings (6-6) moved-up to sixth place in South, which they share with Speyer. Loser OrangeAcademy dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. White Wings will face higher ranked Baunach (#3) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. OrangeAcademy will play against the league's second-placed Wuerzburg (#2) and hope to win that game.
