Regular Season Round 15: Nuernberg - Heidelberg 55-71

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th placed Nuernberg (9-5) was defeated at home by fifth ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (10-5) 71-55. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Stephon Jelks (198-96, college: Mercer) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Center Phillipp Heyden (206-88) accounted for 17 points for the winning side. American forward William Lee (203-95, college: UAB) came up with 12 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Jonathan Maier (210-92) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Nuernberg in the defeat. MLP Academics Heidelberg moved-up to fourth place. Nuernberg at the other side dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. MLP Academics Heidelberg's next round opponent will be Bayer Giants (#7) in Leverkusen. Nuernberg will play on the road against the league's leader Chemnitz and hope to win that game.
