Regular Season Round 11: Wuerzburg - Speyer 87-60

Date: December 15, 2019
No shocking result in a game when second ranked Ladybaskets Wuerzburg (8-2) smashed at home 10th ranked Speyer / Schifferstadt (2-8) 87-60 on Sunday. Ladybaskets Wuerzburg looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Speyer / Schifferstadt's players. The best player for the winners was American guard Paige Bradley (175-94, college: Denver) who scored 21 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Her fellow American import guard Raziyah Farrington (173, college: Charleston) chipped in 25 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Farrington attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on her way to pro basketball. American forward Ashley Gray (185-96, college: Portland) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds and power forward Marla Ruf (182-1) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ladybaskets Wuerzburg maintains second place in South with 8-2 record behind leader Brose Bamberg, which they share with Bad Homburg. Speyer / Schifferstadt lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with eight games lost. Ladybaskets Wuerzburg will face Homburger TG (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Speyer / Schifferstadt will play against Saarlouis Roden (#7) and hope to win that game.
