There was a minor upset in Sakiai where 10th ranked Gargzdu (8-13) was defeated by twelfth ranked Vytis (9-13) 82-78. Center Aurelijus Pukelis (205-94) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Paulius Semaska (185-93) contributed with 14 points and 8 assists for the winners. Four Vytis players scored in double figures. Vytis' coach Erikas Kuciauskas allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Swingman Mantas Ruikis (197-85) answered with 27 points and 7 rebounds and Laurynas Mikalauskas (205-85, college: Virginia) added 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Gargzdu. Vytis moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Palanga. Gargzdu lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Vytis' next round opponent will be higher ranked Neptunas-Akv. (#4) in Klaipeda and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gargzdu will play at home against the league's second-placed Suduva-Mantinga (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
