Regular Season Round 16: Ehingen - Art.Dragons 64-89
Date: December 20, 2019
Bottom-ranked Artland Dragons managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the four-game losing streak. This time they outleveled sixteenth-ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule in Allmendingen 89-64. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 25-point difference suggests that Artland Dragons is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. They made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Artland Dragons had a 29-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Artland Dragons especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Chase Griffin (190-83, college: Pepperdine) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and guard Pierre Bland (188-92, college: PFW) who added 13 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Greg Malinowski (196-95, college: Georgetown, agency: Interperformances) responded with 16 points (made all of his eight free throws) and guard Cullen Neal (193-94, college: St.Mary's, CA) scored 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Artland Dragons (4-12) moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Ehingen. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
