Regular Season Round 12: Herner - Marburg 71-63

There was no surprise when 8th ranked BC Pharmaserv Marburg (4-8) was defeated on the road by second ranked Herner TC (8-3) 71-63 on Saturday. Herner TC outrebounded BC Pharmaserv Marburg 36-24 including a 32-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jordan Frericks (185-94, college: Missouri, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and Dutch forward Laura Westerik (176-98) who added 14 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Herner TC players scored in double figures. Herner TC's coach Marek Piotrowski used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Tonisha Baker (173-90, college: Campbell) with 16 points and 6 rebounds and international guard Theresa Simon (180-98) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Despite that victory Herner TC went down to third position due to points difference. BC Pharmaserv Marburg lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with eight games lost. Herner TC will meet at home Goettingen (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. BC Pharmaserv Marburg will play against SV Halle Lions and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
