Regular Season Round 12: Krofdorf - B.Loewen 70-95

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked B.Loewen (6-3) crushed 8th ranked Krofdorf (2-6) in Giessen 95-70 on Saturday. B.Loewen dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Krofdorf's 36. It was a good game for American point guard Kristina Puthoff-King (180-92, college: Richmond) who led her team to a victory with 27 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Finnish Anissa Pounds (174-90, college: Arkansas Tech) contributed with 23 points for the winners. Puthoff-King is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. B.Loewen's coach J.D. Barnes felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Czech center Tereza Kracikova (188-96, college: Drexel) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and forward Morgana Sohn (184-0) added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Krofdorf. Four Krofdorf players scored in double figures. B.Loewen have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place in North. Loser Krofdorf dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. B.Loewen will face Rotenburg/Scheessel (#5) at home in the next round. Krofdorf will play against ALBA Berlin (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
