Regular Season Round 24: Neptunas-Akv. - Vytis 70-73

A very interesting game took place in Klaipeda. It ended with only three-point home defeat of higher ranked Neptunas-Akv. (14-8) to eleventh ranked Vytis (10-13) 73-70 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. The winners were led by center Aurelijus Pukelis (205-94) who scored that evening 23 points and 7 rebounds and guard Paulius Beliavicius (196-88) supported him with 16 points and 7 assists. Even 14 points and 8 rebounds by center Vytautas Sarakauskas (204-82) did not help to save the game for Neptunas-Akv.. Guard Matas Vaitkus (182-0) added 13 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Vytis moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Palanga and Ezerunas. Neptunas-Akv. at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Vytis' next round opponent will be higher ranked Zalgiris II (#6) in Kaunas and it may be quite challenging game. Neptunas-Akv. will play on the road against Silales Lusis in Rietavas and hope to win that game.
