The game in Sofia supposed to be also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Rilski (9-3) played at the court of 6th ranked Academic (5-7). Rilski smashed Academic 106-72. Rilski shot 60.7 percent from the field and made 24-of-30 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game, while Academic only scored five points from the stripe. Rilski forced 23 Academic turnovers and had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Xavier Johnson (201-93, college: Colorado) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and the other American import point guard Brandon Brown (180-91, college: Loyola Mary) who added 19 points, 6 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Five Rilski players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was power forward Andrey Ivanov (206-96) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and international power forward Tsvetomir Chernokojev (206-0) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rilski have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Beroe. Academic lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with seven games lost. Rilski will play against league's leader Balkan in Botevgrad in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Academic will play on the road against Academik Plovdiv (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
