Regular Season Round 12: Yalova Bld - Manisa 75-80

Very expected game when 12th ranked Yalova Bld (5-7) was defeated at home by third ranked Manisa (8-4) 80-75. The winners were led by American point guard Isiah Umipig (183-92, college: Seattle) who scored that evening 21 points and 6 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and center Tolga Birer (202-98) supported him with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Four Manisa players scored in double figures. Even 23 points and 5 assists by American point guard Keshun Sherrill (175-94, college: Augusta, agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for Yalova Bld. Power forward Melih Kapucu (204-90) added 15 points and 4 steals. Yalova Bld's coach Murat Yolcu rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Manisa have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Petkim and Balikesir. Yalova Bld at the other side keeps the twelfth position with seven games lost. Manisa's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Samsun (#16) on the road which should be an easy win for them. Yalova Bld will play against Akhisar Bld (#9) and hope to win that game.
