Regular Season Round 11: Sibiu - Cluj Napoca 71-77

An interesting game for Cluj Napoca (10-1) which played road game in Sibiu against 3rd placed Sibiu (7-4). First ranked Cluj Napoca managed to get a 6-point victory 77-71. Sibiu was ahead by 2 points after three quarters before a 20-12 charge of Cluj Napoca, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for Cluj Napoca especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. American players dominated the game. It was a great evening for swingman Patrick Richard (196-90, college: McNeese St., agency: Inception Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points. Point guard Kerron Johnson (183-90, college: Belmont) helped adding 11 points. Four Cluj Napoca players scored in double figures. Power forward Randal Falker (201-85, college: SIU) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Chris Cooper (205-90, college: ODU) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cluj Napoca maintains first place in Nationala with 10-1 record. Sibiu at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. Cluj Napoca will play against Timisoara (#4) on the road in the next round. Sibiu will play against the league's second-placed Oradea and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
