Fourteenth-ranked Botas (3-9) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Istanbul Uni (11-3) in Adana on Friday. The visitors from Istanbul managed to secure only two-point victory 64-62. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Botas. Istanbul Uni looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian center Saicha Grant-Allen (196-95, college: Dayton) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds. Ecem Erk (-0, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) contributed with 16 points for the winners. American center Tearra Banks (188-95, college: Austin Peay) answered with 20 points and 7 rebounds and Betul Kutlu (170-97, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Botas. Istanbul Uni maintains second place with 11-3 record having just one point less than leader Emlak Konut. Newly promoted Botas keeps the fourteenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Yalova Vip. Istanbul Uni are looking forward to face Edremit (#9) in Balikesir in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Botas will play on the road against Mersin Uni (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
