No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Bayrakli (9-4) beat at home 13th ranked Mersin Uni (4-10) 76-71 on Friday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It was a very good performance for American center Chatrice White (190-96, college: FSU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Burcu Karahan (-91) contributed with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Four Bayrakli players scored in double figures. American forward Dekeiya Cohen (188-96, college: Baylor, agency: LBM Management) answered with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 17 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and Zeynep Sahin (-97) added 10 points in the effort for Mersin Uni. Bayrakli have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Mardin BSB. Loser Mersin Uni keeps the thirteenth position with ten games lost. Bayrakli will face Bursa BSB (#7) on the road in the next round. Mersin Uni will play against Botas (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
