The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Academic's (5-8) road loss to fifth ranked Academik Plovdiv (7-6) 70-88. Academik Plovdiv players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Bosnian center Obrad Tomic (208-93, agency: PEPI SPORT) nailed 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Adriyan Sekulov (179-96) accounted for 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Academik Plovdiv's coach Asen Nikolov used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Andrey Ivanov (206-96) came up with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and international power forward Tsvetomir Chernokojev (206-0) added 12 points respectively for Academic in the defeat. Four Academik Plovdiv and five Academic players scored in double figures. Academik Plovdiv maintains fifth place with 7-6 record. Academic lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Cherno More. Academik Plovdiv will play against league's leader Balkan in Botevgrad in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Academic will play at home against Beroe (#3) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
