Regular Season Round 13: Gemlik - Fethiye 80-86

TBL top team - Fethiye (10-3) added another victory to their record. This time they beat fourteenth ranked Gemlik (4-9) in Bursa 86-80. Fethiye players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American players dominated the game. Center DeAngelo Riley (206-88, college: Azusa Pacific) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and point guard Erick Neal (178-95, college: UT Arlington) chipped in 8 points and 11 assists. Neal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side forward Gary Johnson (198-88, college: Texas) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Diante Watkins (174-90, college: Robert Morris) scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Fethiye maintains first place with 10-3 record. Gemlik lost third consecutive game. Gemlik at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the thirteenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Duzce Bld.. Fethiye will play against Akhisar Bld (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Gemlik will play against Ankara B. (#16) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
