Regular Season Round 14: Randers - Vaerlose 95-85
Date: December 29, 2019
An interesting game for Randers (12-3) which hosted in Randers their close opponent Vaerlose (4-9). Second ranked Randers managed to get a 10-point victory 95-85. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 95-85. Randers made 30-of-38 free shots (78.9 percent) during the game. Naturalized Australian guard Rasmus Bach (193-95, college: Fort Lewis) notched a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and American forward Brantley Bynum (196-94, college: San Francisco St.) supported him with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Five Randers players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds by American power forward Evan Fisher (206-96, college: Siena) did not help to save the game for Vaerlose. Forward Martin Poulsen (198-98, college: Mt.St.Mary's) added 26 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Randers maintains second position with 12-3 record having just seven point less than leader Horsens IC which they share with defeated Vaerlose. Loser Vaerlose keeps the second place with nine games lost. Randers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Vaerlose will play against Bakken and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
