An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Targoviste. Second ranked CSM Targoviste faced 4th ranked Phoenix Constanta. Host CSM Targoviste (9-3) defeated guests from Constanta (4-7) 74-64. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Phoenix Constanta. The hosts trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 51-34 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. CSM Targoviste looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international center Gabriela Toma (192-74) who had a double-double by scoring 11 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international swingman Alina Chivu (175-90) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. Four CSM Targoviste players scored in double figures. CSM Targoviste's coach Catalin Tanase used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Serbian center Vladinka Erak (190-84) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Boogie Brozoski (168-97, college: Hofstra) added 14 points respectively for the guests. CSM Targoviste maintains second position with 9-3 record having just one point less than leader Satu Mare. Phoenix Constanta at the other side keeps the fourth place with seven games lost. CSM Targoviste are again looking forward to face Phoenix Constanta (#4) on the road in the next round. Phoenix Constanta will have a break next round.
