Undefeated leader Zalgiris delivered the sixteenth consecutive victory on Monday night. This time they crushed 5th ranked Juventus (8-7) 101-77 in Utena. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Juventus. The game was mostly controlled by Zalgiris. Juventus managed to win second period 29-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zalgiris looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Guard Thomas Walkup (193-92, college: SF Austin) stepped up and scored 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and international center Martinas Geben (208-94, college: Notre Dame) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. Five Zalgiris players scored in double figures. American point guard Shannon Scott (191-92, college: Ohio St.) responded with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and Gytis Radzevicius (195-95) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zalgiris (16-0) have an impressive series of sixteen victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with a perfect record of 16 victories in a row. Loser Juventus keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. Zalgiris will meet Lietkabelis (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
