Regular Season Round 16: UBSC Graz - Gmunden 81-107

BSL top team - Gmunden Swans (13-3) had no problems winning another game on Thursday. This time they crushed eighth ranked UBSC Graz (3-12) 107-81. The game without a history. Gmunden Swans led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. Gmunden Swans outrebounded UBSC Graz 35-23 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Gmunden Swans looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of the former international forward Enis Murati (194-88, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists (made all of his eight free throws) and the former international point guard Daniel Friedrich (181-92) who added 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Five Gmunden Swans players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Anton Beard (183-96, college: Arkansas) responded with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Lithuanian center Povilas Gaidys (208-91, college: Southeastern) scored 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gmunden Swans have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-3 record. UBSC Graz at the other side keeps the eighth place with 12 games lost. Gmunden Swans are looking forward to face league's second-placed Kapfenberg Bulls at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. UBSC Graz will play against Raiffeisen Flyers Wels (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
