Very expected game in Izmir where 16th ranked Urla BLD (2-12) was crushed by fourth ranked Mardin BSB (10-4) 83-57 on Friday. Mardin BSB dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Urla BLD's 28. They outrebounded Urla BLD 45-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. Mardin BSB looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American forward Dejza James (185-95, college: Arizona) had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 21 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Sehernaz Cidal (183-95) chipped in 25 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Mardin BSB's coach Selen Erdem felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Basak Altunbey (189-96) responded with 29 points and 7 rebounds and forward Belgin Onbasi (177-82) scored 15 points. Mardin BSB moved-up to third place, which they share with Bayrakli. Urla BLD lost seventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Mardin BSB will face Bosna 34 (#11) in Yenibosna in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Urla BLD will play at home against Nesibe (#5) and hope to win that game.
