Regular Season Round 14: Cherno More - Rilski 93-96

Sixth-ranked Cherno More (5-9) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Rilski (10-4) in Varna on Saturday. The visitors from Samokov managed to secure only three-point victory 96-93. However their fans expected easier game. Rilski shot 62.3 percent from the field and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Rilski had a 28-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American swingman Xavier Johnson (201-93, college: Colorado) who scored 25 points and 5 rebounds. Serbian center Igor Kesar (210-92, agency: Mansfield and Associates) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). American guard Jimmy Gavin (191-91, college: Winthrop, agency: 011 Sports) produced 29 points and 5 assists and Serbian guard Koca Jovovic (187-93) added 20 points and 8 assists respectively for the hosts. Five Rilski and four Cherno More players scored in double figures. Rilski maintains fourth position with 10-4 record. Cherno More at the other side keeps the sixth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Academic. Rilski are looking forward to face Academik Plovdiv (#5) on the road in the next round. Cherno More will play against Spartak Pleven and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
