There was no surprise in Quakenbrueck where 15th ranked Artland Dragons (4-13) were defeated by eleventh ranked Kirchheim Knights (8-9) 94-80 on Saturday. Kirchheim Knights made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was guard Nico Brauner (188-94, college: St.Mary's) who scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American point guard Jalan McCloud (180-95, college: ETSU) chipped in 19 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Chase Griffin (190-83, college: Pepperdine) who recorded 23 points and point guard Jannes Hundt (182-96) added 12 points and 4 assists respectively. Five Kirchheim Knights and four Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. Kirchheim Knights moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Tuebingen. Loser Artland Dragons dropped to the sixteenth position with 13 games lost. Kirchheim Knights will face Walter Tigers (#10) in Tuebingen in the next round. Artland Dragons will play at home against Phoenix Hagen (#11) and hope to win that game.
