Regular Season Round 14: Fethiye - Akhisar Bld 75-72

The most exciting game of round 14 in the TBL took place in Fethiye. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Akhisar Bld (8-6) to first ranked Fethiye (11-3) 75-72 on Saturday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Akhisar Bld. Fethiye made 20-of-21 free shots (95.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American point guard Erick Neal (178-95, college: UT Arlington) had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import center DeAngelo Riley (206-88, college: Azusa Pacific) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Neal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Fethiye's coach Alkim Ay used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Lithuanian Vytenis Cizauskas (187-92) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and American power forward Kahiem Seawright (206-86, college: URI) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Fethiye have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Fethiye maintains first position with 11-3 record. Akhisar Bld at the other side dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. They share the position with 5 other teams. Fethiye are looking forward to face Yalova Bld (#12) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Akhisar Bld will play against Ankara B. (#15) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
