Regular Season Round 14: Speyer - Hanau 81-78

A very interesting game took place in Speyer. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked White Wings (7-7) to seventh ranked Speyer (7-6) 81-78 in the game for the sixth place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of White Wings. Speyer forced 19 White Wings turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Tim Schwartz (197-87) who scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Naturalized Russian forward Albert Kuppe (200-88) chipped in 17 points. Point guard Till-Joscha Joenke (193-92) produced 19 points and 7 assists and American forward Preston Beverly (201-96, college: PLNU) added 19 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four White Wings players scored in double figures. Speyer moved-up to sixth place in South. White Wings at the other side dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. Speyer's next round opponent will be OrangeAcademy (#9) in Ulm. White Wings will play at home against Coburg and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the ProA just one year after relegation.
