Everything went according to plan when first ranked Elchingen (12-2) defeated 8th ranked Bayern 2 (6-8) in Muenchen 77-69 on Saturday. American power forward Lamar Mallory (201-90, college: Glenville St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Jacob Mampuya (200-94) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Mallory is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Austrian Erol Ersek (193-99) replied with 19 points and 4 assists and Jason George (202-1) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Bayern 2. Bayern 2's coach Demond Greene rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Elchingen have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position in South with 12-2 record. Loser Bayern 2 keeps the eighth place with eight games lost. Elchingen will face Oberhaching (#11) in Deisenhofen in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bayern 2 will play on the road against the league's second-placed Wuerzburg and hope to win that game.
